Karachi Kings’ players arrive in Lahore for the second eliminator

Karachi Kings’ players reached Lahore on Monday after they suffered a huge defeat against Islamabad United in the first qualifier of the Pakistan Super League by eight wickets.

In a contest between the second-ranked team, Karachi Kings against the top-ranked side Islamabad United, the men in blue and red posted a fighting total of 154 runs on the board in their quota of 20 overs, but Luke Ronchi took the game away from them single-handedly.

The former Kiwi wicketkeeper-batsman, Luke Ronchi scored 94 runs off 39 deliveries that took Islamabad United to the target in just 12.3 overs which earned them a place in the final of the PSL 3, which is to be played on March 25th in Karachi.

Karachi Kings will have another chance of making through to the final on Wednesday when they will take on the winner of the first eliminator, which is scheduled to take place on March 20th at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi.

Karachi Kings’ ace pacer Mohammad Amir, skipper Imad Wasim along with Babar Azam, Saifullah Bangash, Mohammad Irfan Jr, Khurram Manzoor, Usman Khan Shinwari and Mushtaq Kalhoro reached Lahore.

However, as per the management of Karachi Kings, international players, Ravi Bopara, Tymal Mills, Colin Ingram, Joe Denly and David Wiese will leave of Lahore from Dubai tonight.

Eoin Morgan, who captained Karachi Kings in the absence of Imad Wasim will not travel to Pakistan for the playoffs.
