Mohammad Zaryab, an U-19 cricketer from Karachi, committed suicide after getting dropped from the team for allegedly getting over-aged.
Zaryab got dejected with the news and strangled himself with a noose.
His father, former Pakistan cricketer Amir Hanif, blamed selectors for mistreating him that disheartened him. According to Hanif, his son was under a lot of stress before committing suicide.
“My son was disappointed with the attitude of the coaches,” his father said. “We should take steps to save others’ sons,” he added.
He had previously played for Karachi K-19 side.
