Pakistan’s T20 skipper Shahid Afridi is under considerate amount of pressure these days due to the significant fall in performance of Pakistan cricket team which is why his own performance and captaincy is under scrutiny.

While talking to media after their consolation win against Sri Lanka in Asia Cup Shahid Afridi said that they have a nice bunch of players but it’s the self belief that is lacking so that area of the game needs to be worked upon if they are to succeed in the upcoming mega event.

The skipper added that Pakistan he will not back out of this job that easily and he has full confidence in the boys and their ability to deliver for their side.

Pakistan made three changes for their match against Sri Lanka, as it was a dead rubber, and Afridi was content to see that every player got their chance ahead of the World T20 as it will help in forming a proper balanced team for their World T20 challenge.

It’s crystal clear that Afridi is geared up for the World T20 and he has full confidence in the squad that he has currently. Although a couple of changes might be made as sources have indicated that Ahmed Shehzad will be a part of the squad in the place of Khurram Manzoor as the opener went through a dismal run of form during the Asia Cup. Part of the infamous spot fixing scandal Salman Butt is also being considered for the T20 spot but the official announcement is yet to come.

The Pakistan team will up against some top quality sides in the World T20 because the likes of India, Australia and New Zealand are in their group. It is also expected that the Bangladeshi side will also join them in group 2 after their come through the qualifying round. In order to successfully compete against these side Pakistan need to fine tune every area of their game because the margin of error is quite less.
